Statistical fluctuations for the fission process on its decent from saddle to scission
نویسنده
چکیده
We reconsider the importance of statistical fluctuations for fission dynamics beyond the saddle in the light of recent evaluations of transport coefficients for average motion. The size of these fluctuations are estimated by means of the Kramers-Ingold solution for the inverted oscillator, which allows for an inclusion of quantum effects. PACS: 5.40+j, 5.60+w, 24.10 Pa, 24.60.-k Kramers’ transport equation [1] delivers the classic description of the dynamics of fission at finite excitation. It restricts to the high temperature regime in which collective motion is e-mail: [email protected] http://www.physik.tu-muenchen.de/tumphy/e/T36/hofmann.html

FISSION FRAGMENT ANGULAR ANISOTROPIES AND INERTIA PARAMETERS
An analysis of selected fission fragment angular distributions from helium-ion induced fission is made using an exact theoretical expression. Theoretical anisotropies obtained with the transition state model are compared with their corresponding values deduced from the statistical scission model. The nuclear moment of inertia extracted from the model calculations are compared with their est...

The fully energy-damped yields from the 35Cl+12C reaction have been systematically investigated using particle-particle coincidence techniques at a 35Cl bombarding energy of ∼ 8 MeV/nucleon. The fragment-fragment correlation data show that the majority of events arises from a binary-decay process with rather large numbers of secondary light-charged particles emitted from the two excited exit fr...
متن کاملNew Results on Nuclear Fission – Data and Interpretation
An overview on phenomena observed in low-energy fission is presented, including new results from a GSI experiment with relativistic secondary beams. The interpretation of the structural effects in terms of fission channels reveals an astonishing stability of the fission-channel positions in the heavy fragment in nuclear charge in contrast to the previously assumed constancy in mass. The statist...
متن کاملExperimental evidence for the separability of compound - nucleus and fragment properties in fission
The large body of experimental data on nuclear fission is analyzed with a semiempirical ordering scheme based on the macro-microscopic approach and the separability of compound-nucleus and fragment properties on the fission path. We apply the statistical model to the non-equilibrium descent from saddle to scission, taking the influence of dynamics into account by an early freeze out. The presen...
متن کاملOn the dynamics of fission as a dissipative process
2014 We study the fission dynamics from the region of the saddle point to the scission configuration. For this we solve an équation of Fokker-Planck type for a multi-dimensional Wigner function. This équation accounts for dissipative as well as quantal features. We study the influence of the initial condition as well as friction and diffusion coefficients on the final values for the variances o...
